Achieving a Hamptons style bathroom

Dreaming of a Hampton style bathroom? We want to guide you on how to make that a reality!

Hampton style is elegant and very on trend. First thing we suggest is make a mood board by collecting pictures of what you would like to see in your dream bathroom. This can easily be done through Pinterest.

The colour palette for this style is basically white and grey with accents of soft blue or green.

If you wish to make it more coastal, you can add some blues for a pop of colour and if you want to make it feel more natural you can add light coloured timbers and greenery.

Using subway tiles and also patterns such as chevron or small hexagon marble tiles will go beautifully. Perhaps use a soft grey or blue subway tile behind the vanity, small hexagon marble on the floor or as a feature in the shower and chevron or plain marble on the remaining walls. You don’t need to use all of these styles, but it’s OK to mix them up, so go for it!

Cabinetry for this style is white shaker doors, chrome knobs or pulls and a marble vanity grey vein top. Don’t skimp on the fixtures such as taps and the shower head as this will give your bathroom that quality, high end look.

The fixtures can be more traditional and ornate for a true Hamptons style in chrome or black for those more modern finishes. For that luxury feel the bath should be freestanding acting as the hero piece in the space.

Treat the windows with white plantation shutters or blinds and add wall sconces for lighting next to the mirror or pendant lighting for a more modern feel. Add accessories in your accent colour, the easiest and most affordable way to achieve this is your towel choices. All white can make it look very cold and sterile.

Before you start your bathroom, make sure you have planned it out well and take your time to choose your materials. If you think you need help, call a professional interior designer to get you sorted!
