Penrith Panthers five-eighth Jamie Soward isn’t sure whether he’ll be fit to return to the field this Saturday night against the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.

Soward missed Penrith’s last game against Melbourne a fortnight ago after injuring the AC joint in his shoulder following an illegal late hit by Parramatta Eels prop Pauli Pauli in Round 12.

Speaking to the media this morning, the 30-year-old said his shoulder felt good after a few weeks rest, but he wasn’t overly confident that he’ll be lacing up the boots come Saturday evening.

“I’m not sure yet [if I’ll play], I’ll leave it up to the coach and medical staff at the moment,” Soward said.

“I’ve had another week off, it’s probably a little bit of a longer injury than what we initially thought was two weeks, so we’ll just have to see later in the week.”

When asked what form of treatment he was undergoing for his shoulder, Soward offered up a very unique response.

“They get Pauli Pauli to tackle this side so it’s even,” he laughed.
