Lindsay MP Fiona Scott has presented young sportspeople with a Local Sporting Champions Grant of $500 each.
The Local Sporting Champions program is designed to support young people participating in state, national and international level sporting championships as an athlete, coach or official.
“Playing sport is synonymous with the Nepean Valley and it is excellent to see so many people from our region compete at a state or national level,” Ms Scott said.
“The Local Sporting Champions Grant program is a great way to nurture our talented local athletes and assist them in achieving their goals.
“I congratulate all of the winners and wish them every success in their chosen sporting fields.”
The Local sporting Champion Grants contribute to the cost of travel, accommodation, equipment and uniforms to enable athletes to participate in a particular championship or event.
Applications for local sporting champion’s grants should be received before the competition start date.
