Panthers centre Brad Tighe returned to form last Sunday bagging himself two tries.
But the 28-year-old wasn’t in the mood to chat to journalists on Tuesday about his impressive performance.
Tighe was scheduled to be available to the media but backed out at the last minute to the disappointment of the waiting reporters.
Panthers say it was well within his right to refuse to be interviewed – but the snub is likely to raise eyebrows amongst the club’s management team, who desperately need positive publicity and have pushed for strong player presentation in 2012.
Halfback Luke Walsh (pictured) was another omission from Panthers’ media event on Tuesday.
Also scheduled to talk to waiting journalists, Walsh didn’t even show up to the media opportunity and was “missing in action” according to Panthers staff.
Walsh is believed to have copped a $50 fine for his no show.
Huge credit to Matt Robinson, David Simmons, Dayne Weston, Shane Shackleton and Clint Newton who kindly made themselves available.
