Penrith forward Preston Riki has broken down in tears during an emotional call informing his grandmother of his upcoming NRL debut.

Riki has been named to play his first NRL game at the age of 26 after a long journey in rugby league.

He’ll come off the bench against the Dragons on Saturday evening.

“It’s been a long time,” Riki tells his Nana in the call, where the toll of his journey to the NRL becomes obvious.

Riki will be presented his first NRL jersey later this week.

Also on debut this week is Trent Toelau, an exciting prospect whose call with his excited parents has also been released.
