Superstar Penrith fullback Dylan Edwards is set to make his Australian debut after being called into the Kangaroos squad for the upcoming Pacific Cup.
Edwards replaces Josh Addo-Carr, who is facing suspension over an incident at Tuggerah last weekend.
“It is alleged Addo-Carr engaged in conduct which has brought the game into disrepute by punching an opposition player to the head following a match at the NSW Annual Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Competition,” an NRL spokesperson said.
The NRL issued Addo-Carr with a Breach Notice this morning.
Edwards’ inclusion in the squad is well deserved, with many expecting he would have been picked in the first place.
The 27-year-old joins fellow Panthers Isaah Yeo and Liam Martin in the squad. Nathan Cleary has withdrawn due to injury.
