Superstar five-eighth Jarome Luai has been named to return for Penrith against Melbourne in Friday night’s Preliminary Final.

The five-eighth was injured in Penrith’s loss to Parramatta at BlueBet Stadium in Round 26 and there were fears his season was over.

But Luai was determined to return from the shoulder injury and has trained freely in recent days.

A final decision on his fitness for the game won’t be made until 24 hours before kick-off.

But the fact he’s been named in the number six jumper, and not on an extended bench, is an extremely good sign that he’s good to go.

Izack Tago has also been named to return to the centres.

Tyrone Peachey misses out on the 17 altogether with Jack Cogger taking the number 14 spot on the bench – cover for Luai.
