A Total Fire Ban has been declared across greater Sydney tomorrow as the September scorcher continues.

The Rural Fire Service has set the fire danger level at high tomorrow and ordered the Total Fire Ban across Sydney, including the Penrith Council area.

It is the first Total Fire Ban declared since 2020.

During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.

Penrith is forecast to reach a top of 35 degrees tomorrow and again on Wednesday.

Temperatures will drop significantly on Thursday.
