Police investigate death of seven-week-old baby at St Marys

The Homicide Squad has been called in as police investigate the death of a seven-week-old baby at St Marys this morning.

Emergency services were called to a home on Stanley Street at around 4.15am today after reports the baby was unresponsive.

NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR and conveyed the baby to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, but the newborn couldn’t be revived.

The State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, along with Nepean Police Area Command, have commenced an investigation.

A crime scene has been established at the residence and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
