Almost 83 per cent of eligible people in the Penrith Local Government Area have now had their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, putting the area above the state average.
NSW will close in on 80 per cent of eligible residents having received their first dose in the coming days.
The Penrith Local Government Area currently sits at 82.8 per cent first dose, with 42.2 per cent fully vaccinated.
It’s good news for the local area ahead of restrictions easing at some point next month.
Nearby, the Blacktown Local Government Area has 90 per cent of its residents with one dose, and 49 per cent double dosed.
Blue Mountains Local Government Area is also strong, with 82.5 per cent of eligible residents having received one dose, and 53.2 per cent double dosed.
