Man hospitalised; mystery over injuries

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was found injured in St Marys this morning.

About 12.30am today, emergency services were called to Thomas Street, St Marys, after a 40-year-old man was found with facial injuries outside a home.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene and conducted a search of the area.

Initial inquiries suggest the man had been assaulted, however, detectives are continuing to investigate how and where he sustained his injuries.
