Motorists are advised a section of Glenmore Parkway will be temporarily closed this weekend as part of work on The Northern Road upgrade between Glenmore Park and South Penrith.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson said work is continuing to deliver the important upgrade which will provide easier, faster and safer travel for motorists in western Sydney once complete.
“A section of Glenmore Parkway will be temporarily closed between The Northern Road and Glengarry Drive to build new lanes as part of The Northern Road upgrade,” the spokesperson said.
“Once the new lanes are built, work will be carried out to convert the existing roundabout at the intersection of The Northern Road and Glenmore Parkway to a traffic light intersection.
“While work is carried out, motorists will be detoured via Bradley Street and Glengarry Drive. A secondary detour will also be available via Garswood Road and St Andrews Drive.”
The spokesperson said the temporary closure will be in place from 8pm Friday, November 15 to 4am Monday, November 18, weather permitting.
“Road work signs and traffic controllers will guide road users through the temporary changes and detours while they are in place,” the spokesperson said.
“Motorists are advised to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow the direction of all signs and traffic control.”
“The community and motorists will continue to be updated about the upcoming changes in the area and are thanked for their patience while work is carried out.”
