Two men have been charged over separate alleged threatening phone calls to members of NSW parliament this month.

Earlier this month, investigators from Nepean Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports a member of parliament had received a threatening phone call.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 47-year-old man at a home at Kemps Creek about 5.30pm yesterday.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with ‘use carriage service to menace/harass/offend’.

The man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Penrith Local Court on Monday, August 19.

It has been revealed that the MP targeted was Mulgoa MP Tanya Davies.

In a separate incident, following reports of a threatening phone call to another member of parliament earlier this week, investigators from Ryde Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

As a result of their inquiries, a 58-year-old man was arrested at a home unit at Hornsby just before 4pm yesterday.

He was taken to Hornsby Police Station and charged with ‘use carriage service to menace/harass/offend’.

The man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday, September 2.
