Penrith is preparing for a week of scorching conditions with temperatures to soar above 40 degrees for five consecutive days, starting tomorrow.
It’ll top 35 degrees in Penrith today but that’s simply an entree for what’s to come.
It’ll be 40 degrees on Tuesday, 41 on Wednesday, 42 on Thursday, 43 on Friday and 42 on Saturday.
A cool change will come through on Saturday night with rain and a top of 27 degrees predicted on Sunday.
Locals are being advised to take care in the hot conditions and are reminded that children and pets should not be left unattended in cars at any time.
