A man who smashed his pregnant partner’s phone, damaged her tyres and twice “trashed” their house in a drunken rage will remain behind bars for at least three months.
Penrith Local Court heard the man became aggressive and violent when his partner refused his demands to go and get him food and drop him at a pub so he could continue drinking.
Magistrate Stephen Corry was scathing in his assessment of the man’s behaviour, noting the woman had to hide and the crimes were committed in the family home.
“The victim is entitled to be protected from you and so is the community,” he reprimanded.
He was sentenced to seven months jail with a non-parole period of three months.
The offender has not been named to protect the identity of the victim.
