Police have found missing Emu Plains man Norman Woodford alive after a five day search.
The 78-year-old was last seen on Wednesday, December 2 and a widespread search has been underway ever since.
Around 2.30pm this afternoon, police were able to locate Mr Woodford in bushland off Old Bathurst Road, Emu Heights, with assistance from Blue Mountains Local Area Command rescue units.
Mr Woodford is alive but is unwell and has been taken to Nepean Hospital. It is understood he is suffering from exhaustion and dehydration.
There were grave concerns for Mr Woodford, who has medical conditions that require ongoing treatment.
Officers from Penrith LAC have thanked the community and members of the media for their assistance in locating Mr Woodford.
