Boy fights for life after being found face down in pool

An eight-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after he was pulled from a backyard pool in Glenmore Park this afternoon.

Ambulance paramedics and the CareFlight Rapid Response Trauma Team were called to Dyson Place, Glenmore Park, after the boy was reportedly found face down in the pool.

Ambulance paramedics arrived a short time later to find the boy in cardiac arrest.

Paramedics commenced life sustaining support and were assisted by the CareFlight Rapid Response Team at the scene, who landed at a nearby park.

It is unknown how long the boy was in the pool before he was found.

The boy was transported to Westmead Children’s hospital by road.
