Further charges have been laid against a man following investigations into to a baby that suffered serious injuries in Penrith last month.
About 3.50pm on Sunday, November 23, NSW Ambulance Paramedics called for police assistance at a home in Penrith where they were treating a 10-month-old baby for severe burns.
The boy had suffered significant burns to his head, neck chest and back, and was also suffering significant head and facial injuries.
He was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he was placed in an induced coma. He remains in hospital.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man at the home. He was later charged with recklessly inflict grievous bodily harm and refused bail.
Following investigations, officers today charged the man with five additional charges of cause grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and common assault (x3).
The man appeared at Penrith Local Court today where he was again refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court in February.
