Police are appealing for information after a teenage girl was indecently assaulted on a bus at St Marys yesterday morning.
About 10.15am on Wednesday, the 16-year-old girl boarded a bus on Wilmot Street and found a seat.
She then vacated the seat for an elderly passenger, after which another passenger left his seat and stood behind her.
Investigators have been told the man indecently assaulted the girl a short time later, while threatening her.
The girl pressed the departure signal and got off the bus on Phillip Street.
The man followed the girl off the bus as she walked toward St Marys Railway Station until she arrived at her school and went inside.
He remained outside on the footpath before leaving the area.
Officers attached to St Marys Local Area Command have launched an investigation into the incident and would now like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 40-50 years of age, approximately 183cm tall, with a black/grey-coloured beard and of a medium build.
He was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants and a grey hooded-jumper.
Anyone who knows the man’s identity, or any witnesses who’ve not yet spoken with investigators, are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
