Breakthrough in Colyton stabbing case

Police have charged two men after an alleged stabbing in Colyton earlier this year.

About 8.50pm on May 2014, a 25-year-old man was standing outside his vehicle in a car park on Shepherd Street when two men approached him.

An argument occurred between the men before the 25-year-old was allegedly stabbed in the neck with an unknown object.

The two men left the car park and were last seen walking towards Downes Street.

The injured man sought assistance from the occupants of a nearby home and he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and since been released.

Police from St Marys Local Area Command attended the car park and established a crime scene.

An investigation was commenced and a 22-year-old man has now been arrested at St Marys Police Station.

The man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was given conditional bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on October 20. 

Last Tuesday, a 28-year-old man was arrested at St Marys Police Station and was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was given conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on October 14.
