The Western Sydney Wanderers Women’s Player of the Year is supporting Nepean Cancer Care Centre’s Dry July effort.
22-year-old Linda O’Neill is not only one of the country’s top female soccer players, she is also a newly graduated nurse working at Nepean Hospital and is one of two celebrity champions for Nepean Cancer Care Centre’s Dry July cause.
“I’m very excited to be involved with this year’s Dry July. It’s for such a wonderful cause and I can’t wait to raise money for the Nepean Cancer Care Centre who do a terrific job,” she said.
During Dry July, participants are sponsored by friends, family and the community to give up alcohol for the month, with all funds raised going toward patient comfort items in Nepean Cancer Care Centre.
This year’s fundraising goal is set at $200,000 and with just under two weeks to go, there is still plenty of time for the community to donate.
Local residents can donate by visiting http://www.dryjuly.com.au and searching for ‘Nepean Cancer Care Centre’ or by purchasing raffle tickets for the Dry July fundraiser raffle.
Those who purchase tickets from the Nepean Cancer Care Centre’s front desk can be in the running to win great prizes.
