Wests Tigers forward Ben Murdoch-Masila will join the Penrith Panthers for the rest of the 2014 season.

The 23-year-old has signed a deal that will see him stay at the Panthers until the end of 2015.

Born in New Zealand, Ben moved to Queensland to take up a scholarship with the Tigers at Keebra Park High School, before joining the club’s NYC team. He made his first grade debut in the 2010 semi-finals and last year he was one of the most regular first grade players for them, missing only one game.

He was also named in Tonga’s World Cup side, and the Tonga Test side in 2013.

General Manager Rugby League Phil Moss says Ben will be a great addition to the Panthers line up.

“Ben is a powerful, hard-running forward with a lot of experience behind him,” he said.

“He will add depth and size to our second-row and promises to showcase some exciting football with his aggressive attacking style.”

Ben will join the Panthers effective immediately.
