To celebrate the Rowing World Cup, the beautiful Nepean River will be transformed into the perfect place for residents to siesta on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Penrith Mayor Mark Davies said Tench Reserve will host a series of pop-up Sunday Siesta events throughout March to activate the river in the lead-up to the Rowing World Cup.
“The river bank will come alive with entertainment and a wide range of quality local stalls,” Councillor Davies said.
“I encourage you to set aside some time and come on down on Sundays 10, 17 and 24 March.
“You can bring a picnic, listen to the music and soak up the atmosphere.
“Simply come along for a laze in the afternoon sun in an iconic location.
“Last year, the inaugural Sunday Siestas were very popular.”
Sunday Siestas runs from 2pm to 6pm on each Sunday.
