Police are investigating a home invasion in Cranebrook this morning.

About 2.30am, two males forced their way inside a home on Redditch Way at Cranebrook.

The males had their faces covered and were armed with a knife.

They made demands before assaulting a 44-year-old occupant. He suffered a small laceration to his chin.

The offenders left the scene empty-handed.

There was a man, two women and three children inside the home at the time of the incident.

Police from Penrith Local Area Command established a crime scene and are in the process of attempting to identify those involved.

Inspector Garry Sims from the Penrith Local Area Command said investigators were treating this matter very seriously.

“We want to reassure the public that we are focused on tracking down those responsible,” he said.
