A man has been charged with the murder of a 66-year-old woman following an incident at Emu Plains yesterday.
Shortly before 10am yesterday, emergency services were called to a home in Lucas Street after reports that a 66-year-old woman was unconscious.
Ambulance Paramedics treated the woman for head injuries in the bedroom of her home and conveyed her to Westmead Hospital.
Police established a crime scene at the home which was examined by forensic specialists.
The woman died about 3pm and investigators from Penrith Local Area Command attended the hospital and arrested a 26-year-old man who was known to her.
Radio 2UE is reporting this morning that the 26-year-old is the son of the deceased woman.
The man was taken to Parramatta Police Station and has been charged with murder.
He has been refused bail and will appear at the Parramatta Local Court today.
