Serial robber caught

St Marys Police and the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad have charged a man with the armed robbery of three local takeaway shops and clubs after extensive investigations.

This morning, a 43-year-old Ashfield man was arrested at a business premises at Moorebank just after 9.30am.

Police allege the man was involved in 11 robberies across the Sydney metropolitan region, including three in Werrington and Kingswood.

Police will allege the man was involved in the robbery of a fast food outlet on Dunheved Road, Werrington on April 15, a robbery of a club on Richmond Road, Kingswood on April 19 and the attempted robbery of a hotel on Victoria Road, Werrington on April 21.

The 11 armed robberies occurred over a four-week period and police have already charged two other men for their participation in the robberies.

They are still before the courts. The 43-year-old offender will front Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
