It was a big success in its inaugural year in 2011, and now the Sydney Classic and Antique Truck Show is coming back to Penrith for the second time.
Classic trucks, buses, fire engines and vehicles of days gone by from across the country will be on display at the Museum of Fire on Sunday, June 17.
The Sydney Classic and Antique Truck Show is all about promoting the collecting, conserving and the restoration of heavy transport vehicles.
“Join us and open up a world of fascinating nostalgia and activities for all ages,” said Executive Chairman, Museum of Fire, Mark White.
“Come and see trucks from the solid rubber boneshakers of 1914 through to the kings of the highway of the ‘60s and ‘70s.”
In addition to the large display of classic and antique vehicles, there will be on-stage live entertainment throughout the day including musical performances from local and renowned artists, comedy acts and even a ventriloquist show.
There will be rides and activities for all ages to enjoy free of charge (after entry) and many displays of antique vehicles, including fully restored circus wagons from the past and demonstrations by Fire and Rescue NSW.
“Sunday, June 17 will be a classic day, with classic trucks and classic entertainment,” Mr White said.
“You can even take a journey back in time on one of the vintage double decker bus rides and see Penrith from a different view.”
For those who are keen to attend the event, tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for concessions. Up to three children under the age of 16 will receive free entry with a paying adult. The Sydney Classic and Antique Truck Show is a charity event, with all money going towards the preservation of history at the Museum of Fire and fire safety education.
Gates open from 8am through to 3pm on Sunday, June 17. For more information visit http://www.museumoffire.com.au or contact the Museum of Fire on 4731 3000.
