The brother of a woman found deceased inside her Colyton home has appealed for anyone with information about his sister, 47-year-old Rajeshwari Kumar, to come forward.
The mother of three was discovered deceased in her home at Kent Place, Colyton when police were called on February 2.
St Marys Police and the State Homicide Squad have established Strikeforce Wingfield to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mrs Kumar’s death after forensic evidence collected at the scene suggested her death could be suspicious.
“We are waiting on results from a post-mortem examination… but we cannot rule out foul play,” said Crime Manager of St Marys Local Area Command, Darryl Jobson.
Arun Reddy, Mrs Kumar’s younger brother, said the loss of his sister is a tragedy for the family.
“My sister was a very friendly person and she would get along well with other people, she had no enemies. My sister loved her children, she loved her house and her family and she was a very nice and good person,” Mr Reddy said.
Mrs Kumar was one of six children with a large extended family and had never previously had any concerns for her welfare at her Colyton home.
Police are tracking Mrs Kumar’s movements on Febraury 1, the day prior, and are appealing for information about Mrs Kumar’s whereabouts or movements from a supermarket on the corner of the Great Western Highway and Princess Mary Street, St Marys between 11am and 11:30am.
“I would like to say to the general public, the people of Colyton and nearby suburbs, if anyone has seen my sister on that day and her movements from there please come forward and give that information to the nearest police station,” Mr Reddy said.
