Maintaining your enthusiasm

Maintaining enthusiasm can be tough for all of us, particularly on those days when it just doesn’t seem to be happening and things just keep going wrong. We all have those days, and we all have a little trouble staying positive at times.

Four techniques I use are:

Reading something motivational. Like someone who really had things to complain about but didn’t.

Surround yourself with positive people.

Pull out those jobs that I really enjoy doing and just work on those for the day.

Escape for a bit like go to the movies or buy something new. It’s not very responsible, but it sure makes me feel better.

The change starts with attitude. Without the proper mindset you will never advance or live up to your full potential.

A sense of enthusiasm can improve the quality of the work that is done.

I am very lucky, I believe I was born with a large share of optimism. But whilst it comes naturally, it is tested often.

We are only human, we have good days and bad days, but as long as the good outweigh the bad then you’re doing alright.

I am also a firm believer in maintaining your health to maintain your enthusiasm. You don’t have to be a health fanatic, but eating well and doing exercise can help a lot.

The thing about bad luck and things not going your way is that most of the time it’s only temporary. So keep your head up, good times are often just around the corner.
