Kingswood High School has taken home the WJ Young trophy for sporting success in western Sydney for 2011.
The award, given out by the Sydney West School Sports Association at the association’s annual Blues Night, recognises the top all-round sporting performance out of 58 schools that comprise the western Sydney region.
In the past 28 years, this is only the third time the school has won the award.
“The award is not only about the success of students at the school but also awards the staff for their contribution as well,” said Belinda Douglass, a teacher and sports convenor at Kingswood High.
At the top of Kingswood High’s achievement list was being named the champion school at the Combined High School Athletics competition.
Ms Douglass said she is looking forward to another great year of sporting success in 2012.
