Boost for Brumbies

The season may be over for rugby league fans but the players at Glenmore Park Brumbies Junior Rugby League Football Club are definitely looking forward to next season.

The club recently won a $5,000 grant from the Grassroots Clubs Grant program sponsored by Home Timber and Hardware.

The club’s entry featured a collection of photographs of the junior players out on the field wearing their Glenmore Park Brumbies jerseys. It was short‐listed as one of 30 finalists to go through to the public vote.

“When we were named as one of the finalists, it was like a green light! We encouraged everyone we knew to get behind us and vote. It was this local support that got us across the line to win one of the grants,” said Club President, Dean Williams.

“We’re absolutely chuffed to be a winner of a Grassroots Club Grant. This is going to be a real boost for us. We want to thank Home Timber and Hardware for the fantastic Grassroots Club Grants program and everyone in the community for all their support!”

This year the Brumbies did particularly well with four teams across four ages groups crowned premiers for 2011.

“We are proud to be able to make a difference to Australia’s grassroots rugby league clubs, like Glenmore Park Brumbies Junior Rugby League Football Club,” said Andrew Senyard from Home Timber and Hardware.
