Warragamba Dam is likely to spill on Monday as heavy rain continues in Sydney, the Premier says.
Chris Minns addressed the media this morning as the big wet sets in across the state.
“This is a significant weather event,” Minns said.
“It’s most important that you don’t take unnecessary risks at the moment, particularly travelling through flood waters.
“It’s crucially important that people in New South Wales understand the risks.”

Almost 85mm of rain fell in Penrith in the last 24 hours. The Bureau predicts that up to 200mm could fall today, significantly higher than their original forecast.
A Severe Weather Warning remains in force.
Local roads are wet and localised flooding is expected to worsen throughout the day.
Minns said while Warragamba Dam will likely spill on Monday, the positive news is that the bad weather would have moved on by then.
