Labor activist escorted from venue after Morrison approach

The Prime Minister will kick off day three of his campaign in St Marys this morning, looking to shake off an incident involving a Labor supporter at a private event last night.

Scott Morrison was hosting a private event in Lindsay last night at a local hotel after visiting Orchard Hills late yesterday to make an announcement in relation to assistance dogs.

During the event, he was approached by a man – now identified as staunch Labor supporter Adisen Wright – who asked for a photo, and then requested to ask a question.

In footage uploaded to TikTok by Mr Wright, the Prime Minister clearly becomes concerned before his security detail pounces.

In the video, Mr Wright claims he got access to the event because a “friend works behind the bar”.

“Across the river here, people lost their houses. People lost their houses and they were burned,” Mr Wright screams at the Prime Minister.

He was escorted from the venue by police.

The Weekender can reveal that Mr Wright was named Blue Mountains Young Citizen of the Year in 2019.

Mr Morrison has no official engagements in Lindsay this morning and is expected to continue campaigning in Sydney.
