Local residents can pick up sandbags from Jamison Park as preparations continue for heavy rain in the coming days.
Wet weather continues in Penrith today but up to 90mm could fall tomorrow and a further 50mm on Thursday.
While Penrith is unlikely to see the catastrophic flooding conditions seen in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, there are concerns over potential flash flooding and property damage in the coming days.
The sandbags have been made available by the State Emergency Service in conjunction with Penrith City Council.
Members of the public should enter Jamison Park from York Road at Preston Street.
The wet weather is likely to continue for the next week in Penrith, though the next two days will mark the heaviest falls.
