A man has been charged with possessing prohibited drugs and failing to comply with a self-isolation direction in Cambridge Park.
About 7.15pm on Thursday, January 13, police observed a man riding a bicycle without a helmet on Oxford Street, Cambridge Park.
It is alleged that when approached by police, the man got off his bicycle and removed a small resealable bag of cannabis from his bum bag and hid it under a nearby fence.
The 20-year-old Penrith man was searched but no further items were located.
The man allegedly made admissions to possession of cannabis while speaking to officers.
Checks also revealed the man was directed to self-isolate after being COVID positive.
It’s alleged the man informed police he was aware he was in breach of the public health order direction.
He was charged and will appear at Penrith Local Court on Wednesday, March 2.
