A man has been charged following an investigation into a fatal crash at Llandilo earlier this month.
About 7.30am on Tuesday, November 2, emergency services were called to The Northern Road, near Spinks Road, Llandilo, following reports a truck and car had collided.
The driver of the car, a 28-year-old woman later identified as beloved teacher Gemma Thompson, died at the scene.
The driver of the truck – a 20-year-old man – sustained minor injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment and mandatory testing.
Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, the 20-year-old man was arrested at Mt Druitt Police Station yesterday.
He was charged with ‘dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous’ and ‘negligent driving occasioning death’.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday, November 24.
