The winter school holidays (June 28 – July 9) are almost here and there are plenty of activities around Penrith to keep the kids warm and entertained.
Catering to a range of different ages, there are some venues hosting free events and others where you can take advantage of the Discover or Creative Kids vouchers to get bang for your buck.
Penrith PCYC Senior Activities Officer, Tristan Summerhayes, said if you redeem a Creative Kids voucher for their school holiday program you will receive three days for $100.
“If parents are looking for something to keep their child entertained and challenged, we offer the best quality programs with the best qualified coaches that kids love,” he said.
“We have 10 days’ worth of sports games and creative activities, so four activities per day including carnival games, plant pot painting, ninja warrior, gymnastics and mini-Olympics.”
Founder and Franchisor for Paint and Sip Studios, Kathy Chalker, said their Penrith location is a good option these holidays, accepting both Creative Kids and Discover vouchers.
“At Paint and Sip Studios we encourage creative play and offer a range of kid-friendly painting workshops for an alternative fun indoor activity,” she said.
“The sessions cost $35 per child or have an exclusive private group painting session from $400 with 11 spots.”
Panthers is also getting into the fun with free events including kids’ movie screenings and a magic show with Joey Presto.
The Discover vouchers can also be used at Aqua Golf and Timezone, as well as the ticketed events like Marvel and DC bingo, a kids’ disco and slime workshop.
Penrith Regional Gallery has six art workshops on for ages three to 15, while Penrith Conservatorium has a day long piano and violin masterclass. The Joan is hosting four performances of ‘Hamlet: Print of Skidmark!’, which you can use either voucher for as well.
St Marys Leagues Club Marketing and Promotions Coordinator, Olivia Gasparovic, said Saints is also offering a variety of exciting workshops and shows that cost $14 per child.
“We are holding a crazy science show with the award-winning entertainer Richard Scholes, and a Harry Potter workshop where students will be sorted into their Hogwarts House and make their very own butter beer, slime, trivia and games,” she said.
“Our circus show and workshop will have kids entertained by Kozi and Pinky, and give them a chance to meet other children and have fun.”
