St Clair man charged after 1kg of cocaine and $330,000 cash seized

Organised Crime Squad detectives have charged four men, including one from St Clair after seizing nearly 1.1kg of cocaine and $330,000 cash during a police operation in Sydney yesterday.

Last month, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad commenced an investigation into the activities of an alleged criminal syndicate involved in the supply of prohibited drugs – mainly cocaine – across Sydney.

Following extensive investigations, officers arrested two men yesterday, on Monday, May 31 at St Marys, and Narrabeen, and two men at Austral.

Subsequent searches in Austral and Narrabeen located $330,000 cash, and nearly 1.1kg of cocaine, with an estimated potential street value of $330,000.

Mobile phones, further electronic devices, two replica pistols, prohibited drugs and steroids were also seized during the searches.

A 40-year-old St Clair man was arrested at Carpenter Street, St Marys shortly after 12pm yesterday as part of the operation and was taken to Penrith Police Station.

He was charged with ‘supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity) and refused bail.

The man will appear at Penrith Local Court today on Tuesday, June 1.

Investigations by the Organised Crime Squad are continuing.
