Peak hour transport has been thrown into chaos with trains brought to a halt between Penrith and St Marys this morning.

No trains are running on the T1 Western Line or Blue Mountains Line between the two stations after a person was hit by a train at Kingswood.

It’s since been confirmed that the incident involves a fatality.

A Transport Management Centre spokesperson said replacement buses are being organised, but are not yet on site.

“Passengers are advised to delay their trip or allow plenty of extra travel time,” the spokesperson said.

“Passengers should also listen to announcements and check information displays for service updates.”

It is not known when services will resume.
