Man charged over stabbing at footy game

A Kingswood man has been charged over yesterday’s horrific stabbing incident at North Parramatta.

The 20-year-old was arrested at Penrith Police Station just before 8pm last night and has been charged with ‘affray’ and ‘assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other’.

He’s been refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today.

A 19-year-old man, who was arrested at a Cambridge Park home yesterday, remains at Nepean Hospital under police guard.

The stabbing incident happened after a rugby league match between Wentworthville and Penrith Brothers.

Three males – a 19-year-old player and two spectators, aged 16 and 22 – were injured during a physical altercation between a group of people at the conclusion of the match.
