Penrith residents have the chance to be part of an exciting music event when the Aurora Festival of Living Music comes to western Sydney.

The festival, which will have events held in four different venues, will run from Wednesday, April 30 to Saturday, May 3.

Community members will be able to participate in ‘Aurora Chorealis’, one of the major events in the festival program, at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith on Saturday, May 3.

It will involve an educational and enjoyable program of workshops and public performances, with the day focused on providing inspiration and celebrating the human voice in all its forms.

Workshop participants will join other like-minded community members, along with Australia’s leading vocal ensemble The Song Company, and renowned chorale directors Roland Perlman and Rachelle Elliott for singing, pop-up performances and living art installations, leading up to a magnificent final concert.

For anyone who is not interested in the workshops but wants to see the uplifting and inspirational final concert, tickets are available for the evening show.

The concert will include The Song Company, along with the Estonian ‘In Harmony’ Choir Kooskõlas and Norwegian folk vocalist Christine Strandli.

‘Aurora Chorealis’ will be held at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre in Penrith on Saturday, May 3, with workshops running all day from 10.30am. The evening concert will begin from 7pm, with a pre-show installation at 6.30pm.
