Police have arrested a man as part of their investigations into the discovery of a woman’s body at Werrington yesterday.

A passer-by discovered the woman’s body in bushland off Irwin Street just after lunchtime on Sunday.

Police conducted an extensive search of the area, and were back at the scene today. They believe the body had been there for several days.

Just after 6pm today, officers arrested a 47-year-old man at a home on Powell Street in Hobartville.

He was taken to Windsor Police Station.

No charges have been laid in relation to the case at this stage.
