Joan Renshaw, who played an instrumental role in the glory days of the Penrith Show, has passed away.
She was 102.

The wife of Maurice Renshaw, who helped Penrith secure its harness racing licence, Joan Renshaw was heavily involved in the Penrith Show, the Penrith Showgirl competition and dedicated countless hours to the Penrith Showground and Paceway.
The Penrith Paceway has confirmed Race 8 on tonight’s harness racing card will be named the Vale Mrs Joan Renshaw 1923-2025 Pace.
“On behalf of Penrith District A H & I Society, Penrith Harness Racing Club & Club Paceway Board Staff & Management and our community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Renshaw family,” Club Paceway said in a statement.
“Mrs Joan Renshaw’s legacy, like that of her husband’s, will remain a lasting and cherished part of our story.”
