The Coalition will spend $63,000 to fund two projects at Don Bosco Youth and Recreation Centre in St Marys.
If elected, $23,000 will be spend for crucial fencing upgrades while $40,000 will be spent to resurface outdoor playing courts.
“St Marys kids and families deserve quality local infrastructure and this is why a Dutton Liberal Government will invest $63,000 in upgrades at Don Bosco,” said Lindsay MP Melissa McIntosh.
“Don Bosco should be a place where local kids and families can play in safety.”
“As the local MP, I have fought for millions of dollars for vital community infrastructure upgrades across Lindsay and even more will be invested by a Dutton Liberal Government.”
Father Jeff Miller SDB welcomed McIntosh’s commitments to Don Bosco.
“The deterioration of our outdoor courts over the past 10 years have rendered a large section of our facilities unsafe and practically unusable for our young people,” he said.
“A resurfaced outdoor court will provide a much safer surface for our young people to play on and invite a wide new range of outdoor activities.
“Our current outdoor fence is on the verge of collapse and offers limited protection for users.”
“A new fence will also give the centre a revamped street appeal and will ensure the centre remains compliant with emergency evacuation standards and procedures.”
