Local Mexican restaurant and play centre Yo Loco has officially closed its doors.

On Saturday, March 22 Yo Loco released a statement on social media confirming its closure.

“We are reaching out with heartfelt thanks for your support and to share that our current location has now permanently closed. This was a difficult decision, and we’re truly grateful for the many wonderful memories you helped create.,” the statement read.

Yo Loco has been abandoned, with significant damage inside.

“While this location has closed we do plan to reopen in new locations in the future, and we do hope to welcome you back when that time comes.”

But that “difficult decision” appears to have been forced on the business, after its real estate changed the locks due to a breach of lease.

A sign on the door last Friday revealed that the locks to the store had been changed by the real estate agency.

“The locks to these premises have been changed due to breach of lease,” the sign on the door said.

“No parties are to gain entry peacefully or forcefully under any circumstances without the prior approval of the Managing Agent…”

Yo Lock’s statement also addressed those who had party bookings in the coming weeks.

“For those with party bookings, we want to reassure you that all of this week’s bookings and many of next weeks have already been refunded. We are continuing to process the remaining refunds as quickly as we can and appreciate your patience…” the statement said.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you sincerely for your understanding.”
