Social media continues to be a hub to engage with each other, and follow important news sources.

The Western Weekender keeps its audience in Penrith and beyond up-to-date through its social media accounts.

Here’s where you can find us:

Facebook

With more than 85,000 followers, The Western Weekender has a huge audience on Facebook and keeps followers up-to-date with all the breaking news impacting our community. It’s also a hub for comments and interactions.

Facebook remains one of our primary social media accounts, with almost all of our content shared on this platform.

Instagram

We love Instagram, and with more than 10,000 followers we do our best to keep Penrith locals up-to-date on what’s happening in the local area.

Across posts and stories, we also share a little bit of ‘inside baseball’ on our Instagram posts, to let you know what we’re up to as a paper.

X (formerly Twitter)

We’re still hanging out on the Elon Musk-owned X. We share the vast majority of our news content on this platform.

BlueSky

Come join us on BlueSky. We post all of the content that you’ll find on X. Things are certainly growing over on BlueSky, and there’s expected to be significant growth on the platform in the coming years.

Threads

Remember when everyone was on Threads? What a 24 hours that was.

There’s still a pretty good audience over there so we’re keeping everyone up-to-date with breaking news and information. Why not give us a follow?

TikTok

You probably won’t find any of our team dancing or taking part in viral challenges here, but we’ve still got a presence on TikTok.

Come over and follow us – we’re always posting fun content.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is not just for messaging! Follow us and turn on notifications and you’ll get breaking local news as it happens!

Mastadon

Yeah, so this didn’t really take off. Especially not here in Australia. But we’ve got an account. If by chance you do, join us!
