Child Abuse Squad detectives have charged a day care worker with allegedly sexually touching a child.

In September 2024, detectives attached to State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad received a report that a young child had been sexually abused at a Sydney day care.

The centre is located on the Northern Beaches.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 34-year-old man at a warehouse in Kemps Creek, at about 12.45pm on Thursday.

That man has since been identified as 34-year-old Mays Hill man, Quoc Phu Tong.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with intentionally sexually touch child under 10 and common assault.

The man was refused bail to appear before Penrith Local Court today.

Tong was remanded in custody after his court hearing and will return to Penrith Local Court on November 22.
