Sydney Trains’ disastrous on-time running rate on the Western Line continued in August, when just 77.4 per cent of trains ran on time in the PM Peak.

PM Peak trains on the Western Line have not met the 92 per cent on-time running target since January 2022.

The latest figures mean one in four trains on the Western Line run late, on average, in the busy afternoon peak.

The newest numbers are slightly better than July’s figures when 67.3 per cent of Western Line PM Peak trains ran on time.

It’s better news in the AM Peak where 88.1 per cent of trains on the Western Line ran on time.

But the 92 per cent on-time running target hasn’t been met since January this year.
