All-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant chain Okami – which has a site in Penrith – has been placed into voluntary administration.

The Penrith restaurant on Lawson Street opened in 2021 between COVID lockdowns and survived the major shutdown later that year.

It continues to trade at this stage and is expected to remain open during the busy holiday period.

Okami is part of a chain that has 15 other locations, all of which are also now in administration.

Employee wages are believed to be up-to-date and administrators are hopeful a restructuring plan can keep the restaurants open in the future.
