Police officer to front Penrith court over alleged data breach

A police officer has been charged following an investigation into an alleged data breach.

In November 2022, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation following unlawful access to restricted information by a constable, attached to a specialist command.

Following inquiries, the 31-year-old male officer was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice today for three counts of unauthorised access to restricted data.

He is due to appear before the Penrith Local Court on Thursday, November 16.
